| IProtect is a line
of products used to protect IP. IP files are
transformed to an enhanced file format that cannot be
viewed or used by any unauthorized party. IP vendors
can ship source code or compiled modules in this
format. The receiving party or licensee must have the
proper key to use these files. The key is stored on a
hardware appliance and cannot be retrieved by anyone
other then servers running the design tools. The
IProtect system is designed so that using the IP
anywhere other then the original installation location
is practically impossible. The IP files are not
available to be copied except in the enhanced file
format. However, the design tools can transparently
use these files as usual. The advantages of IProtect
are: very secure IP protection and full transparent
access to the IP by design tools. |

The two main difference are:
1. Security - IProtect is almost
impossible to break.
2. Convenience - IP vendors can ship any

other UNIX platforms. |
